City to replace ornamental tree cut without consent in San Leandro
Mrs. Cecilia Kowalski received a city apology and will have the tree replaced after a city crew removed an ornamental avocado tree from her yard. The removal followed a call for trimming and a later decision the tree was past its better days. Richard Randall, acting assistant city manager, said an investigation found frost-bitten trees in the area and that the replacement will be a better tree for Kowalski’s home.
