Boy killed by crocodile at Mia Serpentarium pit
A 6-year-old West Palm Beach boy tumbled into a water-filled pit at the Mia Serpentarium yesterday. The crocodile dragged him under, despite efforts by his father, uncle, and owner Bill Haast, who fought the animal with sticks until police and rescue workers freed the boy. he died at Miami-Dade General Hospital. Police said the boy was held under water for at least five minutes. The crocodile remained in the pit area. it will be removed in days.
