Volvo Preview Tour From Hayward Auto to Sweden
Mr and Mrs Bill Martin of Hayward Auto Imports recently returned from Gothenburg Sweden after a 6000 mile preview trip. They visited the Volvo world headquarters and assembly plant to view the 1971 models featuring functional changes and a new addition. A special Volvo train ride from Stockholm to Gothenburg was a highlight. The 1971 Volvos will be displayed at Hayward Auto Imports after October 30.

Plymouth Valiant Sets All Time Model Year Sales Record
Plymouth reports the Valiant line hits an all time model year sales high with 201,170 units through August 20, surpassing 1963’s 178,482. Barracuda gains 1570 model and calendar year volumes with 40,931 and 26,161 units respectively, while Plymouth’s overall market penetration climbs to 8.71 percent of industry sales for the model year and 9.4 percent for the calendar year.

Datsun to Build National Headquarters in Carson
Nissan Motor Corp U S A broke ground in Los Angeles area to start a 10 story national headquarters in Carson California. The $3.5 million building to stand on a 68 acre site at the San Diego and Harbor Freeway intersection will take about one year to complete with Kajima Associates as designers and William Simpson Co as contractor.
