Ladies of the Night in Capital Stroll Addressed by Police
In Sacramento near the Capitol a small cadre of prostitutes works the four block stroll charging 10 to 20 dollars. Lt. Harald O Kane says arrests rose 300 in a year but decoy policing cut trick traffic by over 50 percent. Ten men have been arrested, with many pleading guilty and receiving fines and probation. The tactic aims to reduce pimping and street solicitation, challenging the notion that prostitution is victimless.
