Man Averts Head-On Collision In Valle Vista Incident

Hayward man Manet Saura 29 was credited by the highway patrol for his driving in skidding his car away from an oncoming vehicle driven by Lewis J White 33 of Monterey near the Valle Vista and Hays road intersection. White was unconscious at the wheel after skidding toward Souza and striking his car then the bridge multiple times before stopping. White suffered a concussion and internal injuries. he was treated at Fairmont and transferred to Oak Knoll in Oakland in serious condition. Emery T Gove 26 of San Jose was injured when his motorcycle collided with a car turning onto Fremont Way on Niles road. Gove had a possible skull fracture and was treated at Fairmoor and transferred to the Veterans Hospital in Oakland, condition serious.

Chrysanthemum Show Ends After Two Day Run at Paps Motors

The Chrysanthemum Show at Paps Motors on Castro Street closed Sunday night after a two day showing. About 1000 persons attended. Mrs H W Sullie chair of the Alameda County Farm and Home department praised exhibitors cooperation, calling the show an overwhelming success. About $385 will be turned over to Sunrise School for handicapped children from a silver offering at the showrooms.

Communists Must Register Under Antisubversive Law

Washington reports that under the new antisubversive law communists must register by midnight, their only action so far a defiant stand. Penalties for nonregistration include fines up to 10,000 dollars and prison terms up to five years per day, though enforcement awaits formal government action.

Mrs Provi Ray Dies in San Lorenzo

Mrs Provi Ray wife of Jase Hay died suddenly at her San Lorenzo home at 964 Bevilaqua Street. Funeral rites were held at St Johns church with a mass for the repose of her soul at 9 30. Tokyo report says Gen Douglas MacArthur approved a system to try North Korean war criminals. Col George W.
