Jr College Funds To Be Invested For Bond Proceeds
An 8.25 million dollar check from the sale of South County Junior College District Series A bonds has been sent to the County Treasurer for investment. Bids were awarded to Bank of America at a 9.223 percent rate over 25 years. The district may invest surplus funds in US Treasury Bills and interest bearing bank accounts, with withdrawals as construction needs arise. Interest will be used to pay bond interest, per district business manager Peter Barkhlem.
