United Crusade drives through Bay Area with 1872 train
The United Crusade campaign funds 288 welfare agencies in a tour via a revived Western Pacific 1872 wood burning train. A seven year old Irvington boy, Joseph Buckman Sr, was found unconscious in a traffic lane near the Milpitas overpass just inside the Santa Clara county line. Deputies and Highway Patrol traced a 7.5 hour missing period from Irvington Elementary to the crash site, suspects include a possible hit and run, but the driver may not have known they struck him.
