Dr C Pardee Erdman 78 a former Occidental College Bible literature instructor shot and killed his divorced wife Elizabeth 65 in Santa Barbara after her interlocutory decree and then killed himself.
In Saigon Gen Creighton Abrams said the enemy grip was loosening as South Vietnam received 80 U S Navy river patrol boats in a seven point two million dollar turnover. The transfer, a milestone in Vietnamization, freed US sailors for other duties while Vietnam battles continued with low overall casualties.
In Las Vegas a municipal court judge named Robert J. Mullen says he reached a deal to drop charges against nearly 20 black arrestees tied to curfew violations amid four nights of rioting.
