Man Suffers Broken Arm Underneath Auto Incident
Walter Co. worker at 20012 Anita, Castro Valley, tried to loosen an oil pan bolt while under a car. The jack slipped, the vehicle fell, and he sustained a broken arm. A doctor splinted the injury and he was taken to Palo Alto Hospital.

Dead and Injured From Alameda County Automobiles
One person died and 19 were injured in a series of automobile accidents across Southern Alameda County over the weekend, with Tony A. Dias among the dead. The most fatal crash occurred on Highway 50 near Livermore when Dias, 18, was thrown from a motorcycle after a car driven by Eululio F. DelaCruz, of San Jose, struck him. DelaCruz is held for investigation of manslaughter. Other incidents included a rear-end collision on Highway 50 west of Fremont that injured eight, with driver Dwight L. Daw cited for driving without due caution. No serious injuries were reported. Sunday night two Hayward residents were hurt when their car collided with a vehicle driven by Edward V. Careilly, 25, of 1306 Jefferson Street. Francis Frango, 41, of 20818 Pacific Street, and Leona Frango, 39, taken to Fair Meat Hospital. Additional crashes near the Alameda county line involved a seven-car pileup on the Sacramento Bridge. a Castro Valley woman was lightly injured. A separate incident on the Greenbrae bridge in Marin left several injured, including a child. Roy Kil Garson, 65, was seriously injured when his parked car rolled into the house. A neighbor helped him as he was treated for chest injuries and a fractured ankle.
