Miss Langdon assistant executive secretary of the National Council of Catholic Nurses spoke in Hayward to the Southern Alameda County chapter about modern nursing. She stressed nurses addressing social injustice and inter racial strife, plus education driven programs that combine spiritual and social values with daily care. She noted ongoing volunteer programs, training that makes nurses think, and the need for varied roles beyond hospital wards. Over 100 members attended the St Rose Hospital meeting as hostesses organized by the chapter board led by Mrs Joanne Cerilli.
