Freight Train Derailed Near Ludlow

Forty six cars of a Santa Fe freight train loaded with produce derailed Tuesday in Ludlow, a desert town east of Barstow. No injuries were reported and 24 carloads of grapes and lettuce scattered along the desert while the shipment from the San Joaquin Valley to Chicago was disrupted.
