An 18 year old former Mission San Jose High School student, Rick Allen Shipley, was arrested on burglary and arson charges in connection with an October 3 fire that gutted Mission High administration building, causing 500 dollars in damage. He was held on 12 dollars bail pending arraignment Monday. another arrest is suspected.

Caterpillar Nears Purchase of San Leandro Plant
San Leandro reports that Caterpillar Tractor Co plans to buy the idle International Harvester facility at 1983 Davis Street.
