Navy Neptune bomber crash kills eleven crewmen near Virginia Capes

Eleven Navy men died when Brunswick based Neptune PY2 long range bomber plunged into the Atlantic during an antisubmarine training mission with the carrier Lake Champlain. The crash occurred about 100 miles off the Virginia Capes after the plane took off from Brunswick Naval Air Station for an 14 hour fuel flight. Coast Guard and Navy search recovered two bodies, two rafts, and wreckage as part of a wide ocean effort.

Seaborg Sees Slower Nuclear Power Incentives

CHICAGO AP Glenn T Seaborg chairman of the Atomic Energy Commission says new government incentive programs to speed nuclear electric power do not yet appear feasible. He told a joint meeting that early optimism for nuclear central station power competing with conventional stations has not been fully justified. He remains convinced the nation will reach its objective of competitive nuclear power in high cost fuel areas by 1968.
