Car Hits Boy On E 14th In San Leandro

A four year old Mulford Gardens boy Kenneth Delaney suffered serious injuries after being struck by a car on East 14th Street south of West Estudillo in San Leandro. He was identified as Tollie Delaney’s son of 13127 Aurora Drive Mulford Gardens. He left his father’s parked car to follow a man walking to a nearby bank and received emergency treatment at Fairmont Emergency Hospital before transfer to Alameda Hospital in an unconscious condition.

Molotov Rejects Free Elections Plan For Germany

Soviet Foreign Minister Molotov rejected the Western plan for free elections to unify Germany and vowed to retain East Germany. He argued the plan ignored Germany's reality and would cause dislocation, insisting reunification requires a careful approach. West German Foreign Minister Brentano said no new proposals were offered and backed the Western plan already set with the Bonn government.
