Fair conditions across the San Francisco Bay Area with easterly winds 12 to 25 mph. Highs expected near 60s to around 70s in western portions, overnight lows 45 to 52. Hayward yesterday reached 54 with a low around 52.
Statewide forecast shows fair conditions across regions. Coast areas face high fog inland mornings with cool afternoons and mild to warm temperatures. Bay Area highs in 58 to 70s, valleys 78 to 90, and coastal margins cooler with moderating winds.

County Supervisors plan to review policy items totaling 167 500 for possible addition to the county budget of 122 million next year. Department heads propose staff and equipment increases including six appraisers, one internal auditor, safety award funds, higher deputy registrar salaries, and multiple medical and therapy staff and equipment at Highland and Fairmont hospitals. Policy items will be discussed at an afternoon work session.

Alameda County Supervisors will award a contract Tuesday for construction of Harder Road from Mission Boulevard into the campus of the California State College at Hayward. Low bidder was Redgwick & Banke of Hayward with a 720,747 offer after five bids were reviewed by the board.
Hayward City Council to hold a 7:30 p.m. work session at city hall on an ordinance to bar professional strikebreakers. The Alameda County Central Labor Council urged counties to pass similar rules, arguing the measure targets workers who seek jobs only to weaken unions. City Atty. Scanlon says state law preempts city action but a draft ordinance is provided for consideration.

Riverside officials report over 300 more cases of a severe intestinal illness pushing total to about 3,000 in the county. Dr. Everett M. Stone says the disease, marked by diarrhea fever and vomiting, spread within families and officials have isolated the organism but not its source.
Jackson historians question Sylvester Magee, a Hatttiesburg area resident said to be 124, claiming Union service in 1863 and Vicksburg siege. A. P. Andrews cites Magee’s detailed memory of Mississippi campaign lore while noting lack of official records and Magee’s living conditions.
A 63 year old San Francisco painting contractor Raymond Brest was found drowned beside his boat at Sausalito Yacht Harbor Sunday night after a neighbor pulled the body from the water. Marin County deputies and Sausalito firemen investigated the incident, with officials saying the man apparently fell off the boat.
Obituary notices announce services for Joseph E. Vizenor of Hayward who died after a sudden illness at 64. Services begin 7 p.m. tomorrow at Sorensen Bros Chapel with interment at St Theodore Cemetery, Ponca. Also listed are Henry J Houges of Hayward who died May 26 1963 with services from Sorensen Bros Chapel and interment at Golden Gate National Cemetery.
SACRAMENTO AP The Legislature, with 18 days remaining, intensified work to meet two major deadlines. Committees met around the clock and 78 bills were heard in a tight two to three hour Assembly Judiciary session. The Senate faces Thursday as the last day to hear bills from its own house, while the Assembly must finish action on all its bills in a week. Major disputes linger over taxes reapportionment and Governor Brown's budget with reforms to disability insurance solvency, a revenue department, poverty programs, mental retardation care, unemployment benefits, and other proposals under debate.
Vivien Juanita Malone, 22, became the first Black student to receive a diploma at the University of Alabama, graduating with a B.S. in business management amid Tuscaloosa commencement exercises. She expressed pride in breaking new ground as Wilma Mae Barnes earned recognition in medical technology studies and both students faced a campus climate shaped by desegregation and historical events.
President Johnson will return to the White House tonight after a quiet holiday weekend at his Texas ranch. No visitors were announced today, and he had none since arriving Thursday. Johnson announced the selection of 121 secondary school graduates as presidential scholars of 1985, inviting them to a June White House ceremony to receive bronze medallions.
