365 Killed In Traffic On Memorial Day Weekend
United Press reports show 365 traffic deaths during the three day Memorial Day holiday period from Friday evening to Monday midnight. The tally includes 135 drownings and 32 other mishaps for a total of 563 deaths nationwide with California at 29 and New York State 20. In Alameda County Southern area no traffic deaths occurred though several accidents were reported including a Oakland Hayward crash injuring Mona Smith and a Beex Road overpass collision injuring Mrs Nattinger with Milvin Martin cited for careless driving.
