Found in his bedroom by sheriff's deputies he could only growl. he was admitted to Highland hospital then transferred to Oakland hospital after receiving a universal antidote. Thousands watched as a chicken house owned by Gaston Gaubert burned to the ground in Castro Valley last night. Four fire departments fought the blaze, saving two adjacent sheds but the main structure and its contents were lost. No chickens were saved. loss estimated around 1500 dollars. Gaubert credited firefighters for preventing greater damage to surrounding buildings and his home. Fire began after 10 p.m. from an oil-cleaned shed. no insurance on the barn. In a separate note, Fair Oaks firemen rescued Bussy the cliff climbing mare from a 76-foot ledge in a rope-assisted operation ending with the horse safe in her pasture.
