Steering defects prompt GM recall of 22 thousand cars
GM recalls about 22 000 current model Buick and Oldsmobile cars for pinion steering linkage flaws that could break a relay rod stud and render steering inoperable. About 14 060 Oldsmobiles 89s and 98s built in March and April at Lansing Michigan and 8 000 Buick Electra 295 and Riviera built in the same months at Flint will be inspected and repaired at no charge to owners.
