Youngest adults show highest rate of heavy drinking
A 12 year study by Don Cahalan of UC Berkeley reveals heavy drinking problems peak among 21 to 24 year olds. Polluting cars to get special tags in Bay Area
In San Francisco area a tentative five million dollar budget funds a dozen inspectors patrolling nine counties next month to issue citations for polluting cars. Inspectors will drive orange and yellow marked vehicles and act as deputies with authority on roadside pulls. They will enforce Ringelmann standards limiting exhaust darkness to 40 percent for new rules and 20 percent for older vehicles, targeting cars two years or older.
