Nine Month Sentence For Battery In Hayward Incident
Off duty highway patrolman was beaten while breaking up a fight at By and Castro streets in Hayward. Donald Vierra, 27, a cab driver, pleaded guilty to five counts of battery and resisting an officer, and received nine months in Santa Rita jail plus one year probation. The officer and others were struck during the scuffle. no serious injuries were reported.
