Parents protest dropped electronics class at Hayward school
About four parents and students kept the Hayward school board in session until 12:20 a.m. arguing the termination of the electronics course at the Vocational Skills Center. The board voted March 5 not to continue it next fall citing insufficient enrollment and only electronics certification for instructor Herman Corley. The move, appealed to a state hearing officer, was upheld as not a personal rebuke but a program change.
