Auto Collision Fatal To Youth On Motorcycle
Robert K. Morgan, 17, a Russell City dairy worker, died after his motorcycle was struck by a car at Winton and Stonewall Aves. Hayward’s first traffic death of 1957. William H. Hawkins, 40, driver of the auto, was not hurt. Hawkins was turning left onto Stonewall Ave when the motorcycle hit the side of his vehicle. Morgan was pronounced dead on arrival at Fairmont hospital. He was a Fort Bragg resident living temporarily in Russell City. A two year old Hayward boy was bruised when struck by a car on Willow Ave. Donald Brandon Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Donald Brandon, Sr., 371 Willow Ave., is hospitalized at Levine Hospital. The elder Brandon works as a leadman for an Oakland aircraft servicing company. No citations were issued.

A 27 year old San Francisco man disabled by polio in 1951 earned two California driver’s licenses after passing the test without using his hands.
