National crime rate dips per FBI analysis

Bay Area heroin bust ends 18 month probe with 26 arrests

Fremont Police Chief John Fabbri announced the major Bay Area narcotics operation dismantled an afield ring. Final POW group freed at Bandai Gia Lam airport Manila

The last group of 67 American prisoners of war freed from North Vietnam arrived at Band's Gia Lam air base near Manila after the Vietnam War ended. Real masseuse wins house call fee judgment

San Leandra physical therapist Clara Niemeyer won a court case after a Hayward man refused to pay for a home massage she provided in response to a classified ad. She said the man demanded an explicit massage, she refused, and he did not pay the $25 house call fee plus $8 costs. Niemeyer, licensed in California, stresses she offers therapeutic massage and warns against misrepresentations in the massage trade.
