Dedication of O'Hare Field Set Saturday
CHICAGO AP The world’s busiest airport O’Hare International will be dedicated Saturday with President Kennedy in attendance. The 7,200 acre facility serves 13 million passengers yearly and handles nearly 1,500 flights per minute in peak periods. Located 21 miles northwest of downtown, it includes parking for 5,700 cars and a 5 million dollar circular restaurant. O’Hare emerged from a WWII Douglas plant site into a modern air hub financed by state federal and revenue bonds. More than 400,000 annual flights place O’Hare ahead of Idlewild in traffic.
