New Speed Zone Proposed on Route 21 in Alameda County
Alameda County will implement new speed zones along about five miles of Route 21 Foothill Road between Hacienda Road and Dublin. A 55 mph limit will run from south of Bernal Avenue to 0.1 miles south of 08.50, with adjoining 50 mph zones extending the existing 60 mph limits north and south of Hacienda Road and near old Dublin Highway. The reduction from 63 mph was approved by the state highway engineer after engineering and traffic studies conducted by the Division of Highways at the request of the California Highway Patrol.
