Hearings are planned in April on GE's modification application and details state the control rods were not operating within prescribed limits prior to the shutdown.
In Brussels Foreign Minister Pierre Vigny talay rejected a French claim to priority on the Belgian Congo after independence on June 3. France cites an 1884 agreement. Belgium says the 1834 pact limited priority to a sale, cession, or transfer and argues Belgium would not permit sale or transfer to a foreign power.
Donald Ruth was indicted by a federal grand jury on charges of attempting to sell counterfeit Confederate money through the mails. The grand jury said Ruth advertised it as the real thing.
Pensacola article reports Vin (mp) Joseph, 43, with a lengthy Begear police record, was sentenced to life in a jail marriage after reform. He married Mildred O'Neill in the city jail with several police officers present as witnesses.
