The March 1 Bikini blast produced a superbomb with a natural uranium jacket, greatly enhancing fireball and fallout. The U-238 core released fast neutrons, creating deadly fission products and radioactive fallout, doubling yields beyond estimates.
Two Castro Valley youths David A. Clark aged 13 and David A. Reile aged 12 died in a cave tunnel near their homes after it caved in Saturday. Their bodies were found Sunday by Martin Reite 13, cousin of one boy, prompting a large ground and air search. Funeral services will be held tomorrow in Hayward with many classmates and Boy Scouts expected to attend.
A San Leandro boy aged nine was hurt when the car he rode in collided at the intersection of 148th and Wake Avenues around 10:15 AM. Billy Caceot, nine, of 1556 YY Avenue, San Leandro, received a deep scalp laceration and was moved to a private physician after hospital treatment at Fairmont. Bari Blasingame, 55, of 90308 Harvard Avenue Hayward, sustained rib and chest injuries and was treated and released from Fairmont Hospital.
Alameda County planning officials Donald Gutoff and Dick Dunman will address the newly formed Hayward Hills Property Owners Association. The group meets Tuesday at Fairview School at 8 p.m. to discuss zoning regulations and ordinance interpretations with officials answering questions.
The California Taxpayers' Association reports California tops states in share of teachers earning high salaries. In Los Angeles County 3717 of 13,70 teachers earn $8000 yearly or more, while 1124 fall in the $3400 to $3099 range.
Bakersfield report of a statewide confab forming the Feather River Project Association of California to study and promote huge river water development. Raymond Leonard named president, Samuel B. Morris vice president and treasurer, W. Leonard secretary. Directors include Rex Goodrell, James H. Turner, John B. Cooke, Grover Shannon, George Kerrigan, with Allen Ottorff and Willam Moore as alternates. The group plans to push legislation and public support for the Feather River project to supply water to Alameda San Lorenzo Washington, Santa Clara, and San Benito counties. Floyd L. Sparks noted as finance committee member with Paul Wir.
A joint AFL-CIO delegation pressed President Eisenhower to back raising the federal minimum wage to 1.25 per hour. The group, led by Arthur Goldberg, urged extending coverage to more workers including Puerto Rico, while noting the wage would not raise living costs or unemployment. The president asked questions but gave no commitment.

Mrs Ellis is active with Girl Scout groups and has three children.
James Couche, director of curriculum at San Leandro High School, was named principal of John Muir Junior High School yesterday. Superintendent Clarence Burrell announced the appointment. Couche is married with two children and resides at 15213 Central Avenue in Siro.
