Hayward voters will hear from 19 candidates for five council posts in two forums this week. The first, 8:15 p.m. Wednesday at Bret Harte School, is hosted by Hayward Good Government League. The second, 8 p.m. Thursday at Schaffer School, is sponsored by Mt Eden Citizens Committee. Candidates face five and ten minute presentations with audience questions, no Q A period, and league endorsements planned after screening. An advisory Mt Eden board will propose candidates to back at a March 31 meeting ahead of the April 10 election.
