Funeral Rites Held For Col. O'Toole
Funeral services were held this week for Colonel Laure nce Stephen O'Cangle United States Army Retired. A Californian, he studied at the University of California and Hastings College of Law. He began military service in 1910 as a second lieutenant in the Fifth Infantry California National Guard. Burial was in St Marys cemetery Piedmont. He is survived by his widow Mrs Blanche O'Toole and several sisters. His parents were pioneer Alameda County settlers. Burial was in the family plot.

Eight year old son of Fred Flemings from 16227 Via Segun do San Lorenzo Village received emergency treatment from Dr Samuel E Gersten after a dog described as medium size with black and white fur bit him on the right leg near Via Rincon. He was taken to the San Lorenzo Village sheriff substation following the attack. The bite broke the skin and required medical care.

London. Dr Kisur Puchs, Britain's third ranking atomic scientist, pleaded guilty at Old Bailey to betraying Anglo American A bomb secrets to Russia and was sentenced to the maximum years in prison. The 38 year old German born scientist confessed as a Soviet agent for seven years, twice in the United States and twice in England. He declared I do not want to hurt my friends and received the heaviest punishment under the evading laws.
