Mud Room Trend Sees Prediction By Home Economist
Home economist Christine F. Salmon of Pennsylvania State University predicts the mud room will become a major home trend. She says the mud room at the back entrance helps children remove muddy boots and serves as a transition space. Salmon notes a shift toward viewing houses as units rather than a whole, and jokes about moving the mud room to the middle of the house as a future development.
