SAN FRANCISCO AP Thirteen resolutions from ten states urging a stronger stand against smoking were introduced Monday in the AMA House of Delegates. Committees will study the reports Tuesday and final action is set for Wednesday. California led with three resolutions demanding explanations of a $10 million tobacco research grant, stronger public education against labeling cigarettes, and recognition of a link between excessive smoking and lung cancer.
A blonde 18 year old, Joan Wilson, was fatally shot near Times Square while walking with her sister after a church graduation party. Investigators believe a single small caliber bullet struck her head and neck, with possible fire from the Holland Hotel roof. The sister, Margaret, 13, survived.
