Hayward Action Law Bid Awarded on Airport Work
The Hayward City Council awarded the airport contract at its afternoon meeting with a low bid of 21 456.50 for ramp taxiway and drainage improvements at Hayward Airport. The project budget was about 190 552 with 44 percent federal contribution and Hayward’s share around 97 200. The decision followed bid opening attended by Federal Aviation officials who indicated acceptance despite the higher bid. The council also eyed formation of an assessment district in the Will area near Mission Boulevard and the College site pending signature checks, with residents showing willingness to participate. Additional items included a 7.50 appeal fee for board of adjustment decisions and an inquiry into student exchange programs with Hayward State College.
