Fremont School Board fears loss of state aid plan
Fremont Unified School District faces higher local taxes as state aid may be cut. The proposed $22.4 million study budget rises $2.9 million from last year to cover a 61 cent per $100 assessment increase. Homeowners with $20 000 values could pay about $307 more. The board reviewed three applicants to replace Claude Young and set timelines for a tentative budget due June 27 and final adoption by August 7.
