Two major park plans unveiled in regional master plan

The final 20 year plan for the East Bay Park District proposes nine sites and two regional preserves in South County. It calls for Wauhale Valpe Ridges Regional Wilderness between Sunol Valley and Del Valle Park and the Coastal Range Peaks Regional Preserve including Mission Peak Mt Allison and Monument Peak near Fremont. It also suggests sites for a motorbike park at Deaver Canyon or Daolu Canyon, and preservation projects like Arden wood Regional Recreation Area and Alameda Creek Quarries Recreation Area. Expansions are planned for Coyote Hills Shadow Cliffs Anthony Chabot Garin Las Trampas and a shoreline park Alameda Creek Marsh Regional Preserve.
