Times injunction denied over secret Pentagon study publication

District Court Judge Gurfein refused a permanent injunction against The New York Times to halt a series based on a secret Pentagon study. He noted no clear likelihood of proving bad faith, allowed time to appeal, and highlighted the Times’ public right to know. The ruling followed government efforts to curb printing, with later actions limiting The Washington Post and continuing Times installments.
