Weather corner notes sleigh fog in the morning with smoother conditions later. Winds will range from west to northwest at 15 to 36 mph with higher gusts near Taighi's tow. Today's and yesterday's temperatures are listed but unclear.
Statewide forecast shows fair conditions with persistent fog near coastal hills and morning fog in other areas. Temperatures range from mid 60s in San Francisco to mid 70s in Santa Rosa, with patchy high fog inland and light to moderate westerly winds. New York AP reports former President Herbert Hoover showed an almost miraculous improvement in his illness. Family spokesman MacNeil said Hoover was gaining vitality and improving daily. Medical bulletins would be issued if his condition remains hopeful. no link to his previous cancer operation was found. He had a comfortable night with blood loss largely relieved by transfusions. Further diagnostic tests will wait until he strengthens.
