Sad Night as LBJ Beagle Him Dies in Car Accident
Washington AP reports President Johnson’s beagle Him was killed after darting between a White House car’s front and rear wheels while chasing a squirrel. Lynda Johnson alerted lawmakers to the tragedy as Mrs. Johnson mourned far away in Lincoln. The dog’s death marks a second White House canine tragedy since the Johnsons arrived, after Her died in late November and Blanco remains.
