In Korea near Charwon Hill the 7th Communist forces launched a battalion sized attack on the American 45th division, aided by artillery and mortars. The assault failed after about five hours of combat with heavy Red casualties, while U.S. regiments maintained radio contact and repelled the attack with precise fire..independently, American destroyers and minesweepers clashed with Red forces at Wonsan and Songjin harbor, sinking sampans and disrupting enemy shipments.
