Justice Dept Seeks Block on Times Vietnam Study Excerpts
Attorney General John Mitchell said the Justice Department will seek a temporary restraining order in New York to stop publication of top secret Defense Department study on Vietnam. The suit targets The New York Times and a long list of editors and reporters for allegedly obtaining 47 volumes titled History of U.S. Decision Making Process on Vietnam Policy and a separate Gulf of Tonkin volume. The Times stated it would not halt publication, arguing public access to the material is in the nation's interest.

Telephone strike risk eyed for Bell system area
Pacific Telephone officials predict little effect on service if a nationwide walkout by Communications Workers of America occurs.
