Berkeley to anchor San Diego maritime exhibit plan
The San Diego Maritime Museum Association bought the Berkeley ferry boat for 100000 and aims to transform it into a maritime museum centerpiece costing about 900000 with 200000 loan plus 100000 more for restoration. It will be displayed in August with Star of India and Medea arriving mid July as part of a waterfront expansion toward 1976.
