Students debate year round school in Hayward
Glenna Zolling reports students in Southern Alameda County weigh year round schooling against a traditional long summer break. Freshmen and sophomores favor a 10 week summer vacation, while upperclassmen lean toward year-round schooling with shorter breaks. Some plan summer jobs, family trips, or personal projects, and a few advocate quarter systems or shorter vacations to balance study and rest.
