Mosk Ruling On Hospital Bill Sought
Gen. Stanley Mosk will hear Eden Hospital District's appeal over a $1,222.50 recount bill. Assemblyman Carlos Bee says he will refer the district's request for an opinion to the Attorney General on whether the county board can bill the hospital district. The recount cost was ordered reimbursed to Warden and Jackson, but the county charged the district as a statewide election cost amid constitutional questions raised by hospital district attorney Moroney. The March preelection resolution allegedly made the district liable for recount charges in retroactive fashion.
