Desert Inn opens hidden Hughes era rooms after 444 years
Desert Inn officials revealed the vacated home with blackout drapes shielding Howard Hughes from public view as he built a $300 million Nevada gambling empire. Hughes reportedly left Las Vegas last Thanksgiving Eve to live in the Bahamas. The six suite complex is under redecorating and should reopen for preferred casino guests in six weeks.
