Coalition to sue to block Foothill Freeway bypass

A coalition including Mencum American groups and environmentalists says it will file suit in federal court Monday to halt construction of the Foothill Freeway through Hayward Union City and Fremont. Attorney Anthony Kline of the National Housing Law Project says the suit targets the U S Department of Transportation the State Division of Highways and Hayward with claims under a new federal housing and environmental review law. Union City officials considering the action questioned the idea of suing Hayward and postponed a decision pending city attorney review.

Project Edenhead not renewing director pact
