County OKs 500 Dollar Gift for Arts Symposium
Alameda County supervisors approved a 500 contribution to the county art commission to fund a one day fine arts symposium on November 16. The panel had sought 950 with 450 for Mills College East Oakland rental but the board trimmed the rental and urged rent free quarters or alternatives at Dunsmuir House or UC Berkeley facilities.

Alameda County approves Wisteria Street curb project
The Alameda County Board of Supervisors approved a 316,342 curb and gutter project on Wisteria Street Castro Valley. Public Works Director Herbert Crowle said 58 percent of property owners have paid, with financing to be borne by property owners. The board acted after a public hearing with no protests and a unit cost of about 4.50 per front foot.
