In Hauppauge New York chemist Alfred R Globus said his hydrofuel mix of unleaded gasoline water and cane or corn alcohols reduces nitrous oxide emissions and can cut net gasoline costs by about 50 percent. He asserts the clear stable formula achieves about 45 percent fuel content and that independent testing has not yet verified results.

Six saved after whale sinks boat near California coast
A 4 foot vessel Atorrame from San Diego sank 300 miles off the California coast en route to Honolulu during the Transpac race. Six aboard valued at 50 000 dollars were rescued by yacht Swiftsure after the vessel radioed it was sinking after a whale strike. None were injured.
