San Leandro Navy pilot Lt. Cmdr. Eric H. Schade and his three children were rescued after his Al Skyraider crashed near North Vietnam. The USS Oriskany, off the coast, exchanged 35 gallons of ice cream with the destroyer USS Perkins to secure the rescue. Schade was unharmed.
