Rabid Search Continues for Missing Civil Rights Workers
In Philadelphia Mississippi a large federal and state task force continues a broad search for the three civil rights workers missing since June 2. FBI agents, state patrol, and others comb the Neshoba County hills while residents react with caution and vague fear. Civil rights leaders warn of a wave of terror and plan volunteer drives as COFO coordinates with NAACP CORE SNCC and the National Council of Churches to bolster Mississippi efforts.
