Women plead guilty to mischief in San Francisco
Four women pleaded guilty to malicious mischief for painting Off the Pigs signs on four financial district buildings during Christmas. Grand jury blasts S F jail overcrowding and underfunding

Inmate questioned in San Quentin prison murder
An inmate was being questioned by San Quentin authorities after a convict was stabbed to death Wednesday night as prisoners returned from dinner. Harvey C Fortner, 42, died at 4 15 pm in the Hast cell block after three stab wounds from a homemade 12 inch knife found on an upper tier. Fortner had a six month to five year term for escape from a Lake County forest camp and had been sentenced for second degree burglary from Contra Costa County.

Indicted man burned draft records at San Jose HQ
