Doctor Stafford Stricken With Infantile Paralysis
Dr H R Stafford a San Lorenzo physician opened Medical Arts building on Hesperian Blvd in San Lorenzo was stricken with infantile paralysis Monday. He was taken by ambulance to Highland Hospital Oakland paralyzed in the legs and body. His condition today reported as past the worst stage and not considered immediately dangerous. He served in the Army Medical Corps during the last war and his wife Thelma teaches at the Village school. They have three children, Jack, Brooks and Barbara.

Two Year Old Hit on Mohr Drive No Serious Injuries
A two year old boy named George ran into Mohr drive near his home about 2 p.m. yesterday and was struck by a car driven by Harold V. Fowler. The child suffered a facial abrasion and minor bumps but is described as fine and lucky. In another incident near Livermore a car rolled over a canyon after striking a bank, injuring two passengers slightly. the driver Henry J. Quiriconi and a passenger were treated for abrasions at St. Paul’s hospital. A separate knife assault near Moffett Field left two victims near death, with authorities continuing a statewide search for the attacker.
